That would still break a lot of sites (as anyone who uses NoScript already knows), but sites massively overuse third party javascript and it seems irresponsible to increase their attack surface to that degree.ĪHahhaha riiiight. You could block third-party javascript, with a whitelist for commonly used and safe libraries, probably still save a lot of power, speed up the browser, and improve privacy and safety, while still allowing locally hosted javascript to run.
The bulk of these trackers are ad-related. Unfortunately, when you use NoScript, because 99% of sites are designed to not even load without javascript, 99% of sites won't work.īut, if enough people started demanding sites to be designed without the use of JavaScript, eventually the sites would have to change. Let's just kill the whole concept of scripting and force sites back to static content with dynamic server-side interactions. I don't want remote sites pushing scripts that I don't trust on me. So, what I'm reading this is, is that a bunch of spyware that users don't want and didn't ask for, is killing people's battery life tracking their every movement on webpages.
